How Do I Know If I Need New Tires?

Well the short answer is, lack of tread but there is obviously more to it than that. Tires can show wear with dry-rott which manifests through small cracks in the sidewalls. If the tires are out of alignment, many times there will be significant wear on the inside or outside of the tread. However, if the tire is chopped out around the edge, you may have a problem in your suspension system as well as a need for new tires - this is normally a symptom of bad shocks and can be rectified very easily. As far as simple wear and tear goes, once a tire reaches 3/32 of an inch, its time to start looking to replace it.

What Exactly Is A Pull-Off?

A pulloff is a tire with usually 90% tread or better that has come from a vehicle that has been wrecked or was purchased in error by the original owner. At A&A Used Tires, we see move so many tires through our stores that it is not unusual to see as many as 20 sets of pulloffs in a given month. However, just beneath the pull-off is the 70-80% tread tire that makes up around 1/4 of our total inventory. So if you need some like new tires without the like new price. A&A is the only stop you need to make.

Does A&A Have A Warranty On Used Tires?

Yes. Every tire we sell comes with a 30 day warranty against any defect with the obvious exception of road hazard. When we install your used tires, our trained technician may notice an alignment problem based on the wear of the tires we replace. In such cases, you much get the proper alignment in order to qualify for a tire warranty. Fortunately, we offer such alignments at very low cost.

How Many Miles Can I Expect To Put On A Set Of Used Tires?

There are a lot of factors that play into the life of any tire - new or used. Driving habits, original tread, quality of the roads, speed of travel and much more will factor in when all is said and done. Keep in mind that everyone on the road is driving on a used tire - and at A&A we make it our mission to match you with the best overall tire that will fit into your budgetary constraints.

Does It Ever Make Sense To Buy Brand New Tires?

Yes. There are several sizes of tires that are very hard to find used. As a result, the selection of used tires in those sizes- even with our massive inventory, is not as high quality as most others. In these cases, it often makes sense to buy new, if you can find a set of new tires that you can afford. To help our customers with these situations we have made a commitment to sell new tires at our cost simply as a service to the public. Used tires are our business, but we want to make sure that if we cannot provide you with a quality set of used tires, that we can still meet your need without causing too much budgetary discomfort.

Do You Have Tires In My Size?

Obviously, this is one of the most frequently asked questions we get. Nobody has every tire size in existence at all times. We do however maintain a large inventory that always has high quality tires in around 90% of the sizes used in the US. SO, chances are the answer is yes.
